The County Wide Shoppers Guide was created in 2002.  Our goal in creating this magazine was to help our local economy by encouraging shoppers to buy local from businesses in our surrounding communities.  By local, we look at our surrounding counties; Hays, Comal, Caldwell, Guadalupe, Blanco, and Travis counties. The founder of the guide felt the rising costs of advertising were increasing a little too much.  By putting this guide into service, it would provide a few jobs, pay for itself and be able to be produced on a small budget. This guide was started to help the local business owners in our local communities.

Our History

November 2002 Issue

If you view the covers of our older issues, you will see that when we first started printing it was on ivory stock paper with blue and black ink on the front (and back) cover.  Our goal was to have 16 pages and print full color by our one year anniversary.  Thanks to the hard work of our wonderful sales people at the time, we were able to go full color within six months.  From 2002 until the present, we have had the privilege to work with so many wonderful people; business owners, managers, and staff alike!  If you are reading this, you know who you are.  We have been grateful for each opportunity!

I have been part of County Wide Shoppers Guide since it began in 2002.  This year (2015), Ed Kirby, a local businessman from Wimberley, bought the magazine.  I have known Ed since 1999.  He has a wonderful vision for the magazine and we are looking forward to the direction the magazine is headed.  Keep an eye out for our first issue.  We will be introducing something new!  (And it is awesome!)

We are honored to be able to serve the local businesses in the Texas Hill Country (and our future service areas) and hope that you will consider advertising with us and become part of our future history.

Best Wishes to All of You!
